New Sewing Room

My new room is great!

This is what happens when you sort out your material...a great big pile!

The quilt wall!! I added some pin boards to my wall this time...for inspirational things and ideas to get stuck to...so I don't lose them!! Natalie's Table Runner is under the overlocker and old machine on the cupboard at the back and all my notions and current projects are stored in that cupboard!
The fabric and magazine shelf. There is other stuff and my other crafts sotred in the cupboards in the room.

The 'Wall of plastic' as it is known in this house! All my supplies and books from work. They used to live down stairs in the storage shed at the old house...this house doesn't have a storage shed and DH won't let me put them in the garage...he thinks the cars should go in there!
View from the door way. I had to shut the curtains to make the flash work and the photo not so dark. It is a terrible room for sewing at night in...lucky I have my lamp!

Now I have some space to work in! I no longer have to share my sewing room with DH or the computer! Now to just find some time to use it...maybe I should stop stuffing around on the computer while Aden sleeps and sew instead!

{3rd Birthday} Octonauts party

It has been a week two weeks since Aden's Octonauts party and I think I have recovered enough to post about it. Special thanks to my sister for gabbing my camera and my MIL and SIL for their cameras, as I didn't take any all day! Aden is a massive Octonauts fan! So when he didn't go for my initial plan of a 'Monsters' Party ( too scary Mummy!) we decided on Octonauts. I did a lot of Internet searching and looking at a lot of Pintrest posts to gather all my ideas together.  There was lots of party food including Octonaut Cupcakes. Cake toppers from Ebay  And a Kwazii cake as requested by the birthday boy! I totally forgot to put on the Octopus I had for his hat!! We also had yellow/green/blue jelly cups with turtles in them and smarties cookies. As well as regular party food and hot finger food for the adults. Mummy wiping Aden's face before having cake photos! We had balloons, a birthday banner and streamers.

Amy is hosting a Quilt Festival! You get to see so many beautiful quilts all in the one place in the comfort of your own home...or work desk as the case may be! All you have to do is share a quilt you have made! I'm going to share this quilt.... from a pattern yes but I loved making it! Choosing the fabrics was fun...playing with colours mixing them up...changing my mind...I tried to be true to life but it ws hard with the bright fabrics... I had a border dilema that was fixed by some helpful friends! Progress pic... All the animals finished Of course it helps to love a quilt when your making it for a very special little girl! I'm keen to make this one again...just to play with the fabrics!!
