Finished Knitting

Image
I finished knitting this scarf yesterday for my little sister down in Sydney...It will be in the post tomorrow Cee! Hopefully it will keep her warm enough! I'm not overly happy with it...I must have changed my knitting style or tension half way through....or maybe the fibre is different...anyway there is a noticable change in the scarf...hopefully she will wear it anyway!

Annaleisa is getting so big!!

My new baby!!

My wonderful DH bought me this today.... An Olympus Digial SLR E420 ...one of the few on the market with 'live view'. It is wonderful!!! I took a picture of our fruit bowl!! And DH took a picture of me! After a walk with the dog...excuse the sweaty face!

Flavour of the Month!!

Image
Paper piecing seems to be the flavour of the month when talking to my quilting buddies...so I thought I'd give it a go myself... I'm loving green at the moment..so fresh!! This block was supossed to be 8 inches finished according to the pattern...It printed all right from the computer...but the block seems slightly smaller...think I may have to measure it....Yep as I feared...currently 8 3/8...so with 1/4 seams it will be a tiny bit smaller....dam!!

Jester

I haven't blogged a picture of my Jester dog in a while, look at those sad puppy eyes! He is still going really well at training...much better at comming when he is called and now the challenge will be to 'stay' where he needs to be before the start of a jump/tunnel run....He wanders off! A very short attention span I fear!

How does your garden grow??

Image
Ours is growing really well...nothing is dead yet!! And the weeds are at bay...and look these lovely flowers have started to bloom.

I Love Brights!!

Look at the lovely bright FQ's I got from BugFabric.com and 2 metres of this for a Teddy Bear Quilt I actually really wanted the red one in this same fabric...but they only had green and yellow I also got a very special fabric for a RR quilt...so no peeks...but I love it!!

Car from Carrose Creations PM me your address Car and I'll send you this (very) bright table runner and some other quilty goodness!! Hopefully she can get her quilt sew-jo back!! As a test run for some other table runners I'm going to make...this one is a little short for our table. It measures 30.5 inches long but needs another 6-10 inches. Width is pretty good at 12 inches.

Fishing on the long weekend

Image
DH's fish...too small!! I needed a bit of help to get started...It was not my fault the line tangled itself!! and I don't bait my own hook so I'm glad the boys were there My view for the day I caught a fish!!! Too little to keep...not that I'd eat it anyway!! After the third time of catching this little crab (I swear it was the same one!!) I pulled him into the boat. The one legal crab we got from the pots Before After Cooked Crab Noodle tasting the crab meat

Gardening

Image
DH and I spent most of the day outside today, cleaning up and gardening. $160 later at Bunnings and we planted out a herb garden complete with chilli bush. We used our own home made compost that has taken us almost 4 years to make! We also added some hanging baskets to the front and re-potted the cardboard plant! We added some potted colour to the back deck and planted two more screening trees along the fences so hopefully they grow quickly and we can stop the neighbours from looking onto our deck. Top Row - Mona Lavender, Gerbra , Canna (Tropical Yellow - Can't wait to see this on bloom) Bottom Row - Clown Mix, and don't remember ( opps !!) Big Tub - Snow White Tabebula Argentea Silver Trumpet Tree Melaleuca quinquenervia
