Take Two!!

After seeing my new Nappy bag on my blog...I had a request from my cousin to make her one too...to replace the one she bought 6 months ago that is already falling apart...I hope mine lasts a bit longer than that!!

I sent her dozens of photos of fabric choices from my stash and she picked two that she liked.

I cut out half of the pattern pieces last night and the rest this morning while DH cooked me pancakes for breakfast. YUM!!!

Then over the course of the day....getting up often to stretch my tummy/back so that it doesn't start hurting...I finished the whole thing!!

I'm really please with the way this one turned out as well. It will be posted on Tuesday.




I've added the velcro to my bag and the clip tag thingy for the keys so it is all done.

Butterick 4560 - Nappy Bag - Adjustments

No padding in the lidded outside pocket or change to a elastic pocket
Shorten strap by at least 30 cms
Trim seam after joining outside and lining for less bulk
Attach velcro to inside/lining flap before joining togehter - can't be seen from the outside

{3rd Birthday} Octonauts party

It has been a week two weeks since Aden's Octonauts party and I think I have recovered enough to post about it. Special thanks to my sister for gabbing my camera and my MIL and SIL for their cameras, as I didn't take any all day! Aden is a massive Octonauts fan! So when he didn't go for my initial plan of a 'Monsters' Party ( too scary Mummy!) we decided on Octonauts. I did a lot of Internet searching and looking at a lot of Pintrest posts to gather all my ideas together.  There was lots of party food including Octonaut Cupcakes. Cake toppers from Ebay  And a Kwazii cake as requested by the birthday boy! I totally forgot to put on the Octopus I had for his hat!! We also had yellow/green/blue jelly cups with turtles in them and smarties cookies. As well as regular party food and hot finger food for the adults. Mummy wiping Aden's face before having cake photos! We had balloons, a birthday banner and streamers.

Amy is hosting a Quilt Festival! You get to see so many beautiful quilts all in the one place in the comfort of your own home...or work desk as the case may be! All you have to do is share a quilt you have made! I'm going to share this quilt.... from a pattern yes but I loved making it! Choosing the fabrics was fun...playing with colours mixing them up...changing my mind...I tried to be true to life but it ws hard with the bright fabrics... I had a border dilema that was fixed by some helpful friends! Progress pic... All the animals finished Of course it helps to love a quilt when your making it for a very special little girl! I'm keen to make this one again...just to play with the fabrics!!
