Two weeks in a row!! Yeah!!


DH's cousin had a little girl last Monday...Imogen Meleisha was a tiny 5lbs 1oz and a few weeks early!! I'm not really sure if they are the 'homemade present' type of people, but as Imogen was the 4th great-grandbaby but the first girl and they knew whe was a girl before she was born I'm sure they have everything under the sun for her...execpt a quilt of course!

Made the quilt tops Musk, Marshmellows, Butterfly Dreams and Strawberries and Cream back in January of 2008.
Marshmellows went to Alannah and Strawberries and Cream went to Annaleisa
So I dug out Musk for Imogen...I'm saving Butterfly Dreams for someone special...if it is a girl this time!!

Anyway while Aden had a 30 min cat nap today I chose some backing and binding fabrics, ironed them, swept the floor enough to have a clear space in the playroom, made a quilt sandwich and re-threaded the machine with pink varigated cotton... and that is as far as I got...
until this afternoon that is...I was hoping and praying for a 2.5 hour sleep like I got yesterday.....no such luck! So in the 40 minutes that Aden slept for this arvo I got quilting. A fast simple effective stipple...I almost got it done too...only 20 cms left along one of the short sides!!
Should only take me about 20 mins to finish the quilting and then I need to make the binding and sew it on!

{3rd Birthday} Octonauts party

It has been a week two weeks since Aden's Octonauts party and I think I have recovered enough to post about it. Special thanks to my sister for gabbing my camera and my MIL and SIL for their cameras, as I didn't take any all day! Aden is a massive Octonauts fan! So when he didn't go for my initial plan of a 'Monsters' Party ( too scary Mummy!) we decided on Octonauts. I did a lot of Internet searching and looking at a lot of Pintrest posts to gather all my ideas together.  There was lots of party food including Octonaut Cupcakes. Cake toppers from Ebay  And a Kwazii cake as requested by the birthday boy! I totally forgot to put on the Octopus I had for his hat!! We also had yellow/green/blue jelly cups with turtles in them and smarties cookies. As well as regular party food and hot finger food for the adults. Mummy wiping Aden's face before having cake photos! We had balloons, a birthday banner and streamers.

Bloggers Quilt Festival - Spring 2010

Amy is hosting a Quilt Festival! You get to see so many beautiful quilts all in the one place in the comfort of your own home...or work desk as the case may be! All you have to do is share a quilt you have made! I'm going to share this quilt.... from a pattern yes but I loved making it! Choosing the fabrics was fun...playing with colours mixing them up...changing my mind...I tried to be true to life but it ws hard with the bright fabrics... I had a border dilema that was fixed by some helpful friends! Progress pic... All the animals finished Of course it helps to love a quilt when your making it for a very special little girl! I'm keen to make this one again...just to play with the fabrics!!
