Ally Gator


I just received patterns for these (there are 10 altogether) in the mail this afternoon, so after cleaning out the pantry and tidying the kitchen I decided to reward myself with starting a new quilt.....this one is rather special...A very good friend of mine, in fact best friend, is due to have a baby in October and so this quit is for her, and her baby!

I picked this block first because I had picked the fabric for the crocodile even before getting the pattern. I love the green swirly fabric for the head and foot....I'm not sure about the bird....I'm hoping it will look more like a bird after stitching it down!

I love the fabrics you have chosen AJ! I can't decide which block to start first and think I may need some stash enhancements first, but I will keep asn eye on yours for inspiration.

I love those greens & I think the bird looks too cute - although he's keen sitting where he's sitting!!!

Ally looks terrific! I'm almost wishing I'd gone in with you too - and I don't like following patterns! My favourite is the skin fabric, and that white is cool, too!

{3rd Birthday} Octonauts party

It has been a week two weeks since Aden's Octonauts party and I think I have recovered enough to post about it. Special thanks to my sister for gabbing my camera and my MIL and SIL for their cameras, as I didn't take any all day! Aden is a massive Octonauts fan! So when he didn't go for my initial plan of a 'Monsters' Party ( too scary Mummy!) we decided on Octonauts. I did a lot of Internet searching and looking at a lot of Pintrest posts to gather all my ideas together.  There was lots of party food including Octonaut Cupcakes. Cake toppers from Ebay  And a Kwazii cake as requested by the birthday boy! I totally forgot to put on the Octopus I had for his hat!! We also had yellow/green/blue jelly cups with turtles in them and smarties cookies. As well as regular party food and hot finger food for the adults.
