Blues for Bernadette

Yep think I'm going to give it to the friend at work...I was talking to her the other day and she was quite sad that I hadn't brought in any more to showoff lately!!

Tonight I made nine more blocks and did them three at a time to save my poor blade..took a little longer but there were no mix-ups in the order of the materials... so all is good...that gives me a total of 36 blocks...so either 5 x 7 blocks and one left over for the back label or 6 x 6 blocks and make it a square quilt??? This photo shows the 5 x 7 blocks...


So Helen are you ready to swap??? no pressure or anything!! LOL!! Do you only want ones with the materials we swaped or the others as well?? How many do you want to swap?? 5..6...7...8???

I just had to add this other photo...I always ask MOTH if he likes my quilts...(I don't really care if he doesn't!!) and this is his way of helping...jumping on top of the nicely layed out blocks and messing them all up!!! Thanks MOTH!!!

{3rd Birthday} Octonauts party

It has been a week two weeks since Aden's Octonauts party and I think I have recovered enough to post about it. Special thanks to my sister for gabbing my camera and my MIL and SIL for their cameras, as I didn't take any all day! Aden is a massive Octonauts fan! So when he didn't go for my initial plan of a 'Monsters' Party ( too scary Mummy!) we decided on Octonauts. I did a lot of Internet searching and looking at a lot of Pintrest posts to gather all my ideas together.  There was lots of party food including Octonaut Cupcakes. Cake toppers from Ebay  And a Kwazii cake as requested by the birthday boy! I totally forgot to put on the Octopus I had for his hat!! We also had yellow/green/blue jelly cups with turtles in them and smarties cookies. As well as regular party food and hot finger food for the adults. Mummy wiping Aden's face before having cake photos! We had balloons, a birthday banner and streamers.

All you have to do is share a quilt you have made! I'm going to share this quilt.... from a pattern yes but I loved making it! Choosing the fabrics was fun...playing with colours mixing them up...changing my mind...I tried to be true to life but it ws hard with the bright fabrics... I had a border dilema that was fixed by some helpful friends! Progress pic... All the animals finished Of course it helps to love a quilt when your making it for a very special little girl! I'm keen to make this one again...just to play with the fabrics!!
