Friday the 13th!!

I've survived Friday the 13th.....

We were going to have some friends around for dinner... they cancelled on us cause H wasn't feeling well...A also told me we were having a surprise dinner guest...but when the others cancelled I was able to get it out of him...It is an old friend of A's, who he was best man for some years ago, when we were first together...haven't seen him for about 5 and half years....but he had to cancel too :( ...His plane was late getting in and he wouldn't be finished work till about 10:30pm..... so we had take away instead of cooking the gormay(sp??) meal we had planned....Oh well lamb shanks freeze well....

Have been sewing the binding together for C's quilt...I've added the borders and her name but found I just couldn't leave it the way it was.....the purple borders hide the top corner as it is also purple....so I will have to unpick and replace the corner block...which I was going to do tonight but I can't find my unpicker...anyone seen it???

Off to bed now.... I hope you have enjoyed your 'superstitious' day (hard to avoid a black cat when you live with one!!!)

Yep Thanks Helen....It was on the floor where I had already looked...LOL....lucky I don't have kids as I'm sure they would have found it first!

{3rd Birthday} Octonauts party

It has been a week two weeks since Aden's Octonauts party and I think I have recovered enough to post about it. Special thanks to my sister for gabbing my camera and my MIL and SIL for their cameras, as I didn't take any all day! Aden is a massive Octonauts fan! So when he didn't go for my initial plan of a 'Monsters' Party ( too scary Mummy!) we decided on Octonauts. I did a lot of Internet searching and looking at a lot of Pintrest posts to gather all my ideas together.  There was lots of party food including Octonaut Cupcakes. Cake toppers from Ebay  And a Kwazii cake as requested by the birthday boy! I totally forgot to put on the Octopus I had for his hat!! We also had yellow/green/blue jelly cups with turtles in them and smarties cookies. As well as regular party food and hot finger food for the adults. Mummy wiping Aden's face before having cake photos! We had balloons, a birthday banner and streamers.

Amy is hosting a Quilt Festival! You get to see so many beautiful quilts all in the one place in the comfort of your own home...or work desk as the case may be! All you have to do is share a quilt you have made! I'm going to share this quilt.... from a pattern yes but I loved making it! Choosing the fabrics was fun...playing with colours mixing them up...changing my mind...I tried to be true to life but it ws hard with the bright fabrics... I had a border dilema that was fixed by some helpful friends! Progress pic... All the animals finished Of course it helps to love a quilt when your making it for a very special little girl! I'm keen to make this one again...just to play with the fabrics!!
