Laini's Fairy


I've finished Laini's Fairy but not sure I like it...it just doesn't seem right. I think I will hand quilt the next one...this one has flower outlines and it doesn't seem right....maybe it's the colours?? I think it is the face...??? I don't like the eyes....oh so many things to fix for next time...!!

I think she looks cute!! How did you do the eyes? Draw them on or hand sew a knot stitch?? I'll take a pict of Milly's one to show you the shadow stitching around the fairy over the weekend, cool?

Bloggers Quilt Festival - Spring 2010

Amy is hosting a Quilt Festival! You get to see so many beautiful quilts all in the one place in the comfort of your own home...or work desk as the case may be! All you have to do is share a quilt you have made! I'm going to share this quilt.... from a pattern yes but I loved making it! Choosing the fabrics was fun...playing with colours mixing them up...changing my mind...I tried to be true to life but it ws hard with the bright fabrics... I had a border dilema that was fixed by some helpful friends! Progress pic... All the animals finished Of course it helps to love a quilt when your making it for a very special little girl! I'm keen to make this one again...just to play with the fabrics!!

{3rd Birthday} Octonauts party

It has been a week two weeks since Aden's Octonauts party and I think I have recovered enough to post about it. Special thanks to my sister for gabbing my camera and my MIL and SIL for their cameras, as I didn't take any all day! Aden is a massive Octonauts fan! So when he didn't go for my initial plan of a 'Monsters' Party ( too scary Mummy!) we decided on Octonauts. I did a lot of Internet searching and looking at a lot of Pintrest posts to gather all my ideas together.  There was lots of party food including Octonaut Cupcakes. Cake toppers from Ebay  And a Kwazii cake as requested by the birthday boy! I totally forgot to put on the Octopus I had for his hat!! We also had yellow/green/blue jelly cups with turtles in them and smarties cookies. As well as regular party food and hot finger food for the adults. Mummy wiping Aden's face before having cake photos! We had balloons, a birthday banner and streamers. ...
