Christmas Shorts for Bailey

Image
Boys like things made of fabric too! Bailey requested (or rather his Mum cause she is sick of washing the same pair of shorts over and over) some more Lightning McQueen shorts ! So Aunty of course happily said yes....8 times! Here are 3 I finished tonight and there are 5 more waiting for some white cotton to close the elastic hole. Who runs out of white cotton?!?!?! A quick trip to SL  tomorrow will get them all finished in time to gift for Christmas!

Bailey's Roadworks Quilt

Image
Aden's not great with the camera just yet....      Today my hamdsome nephew turns 3! Happy Birthday Bailey! I finished this last month but waited til today to blog it. Bailey loves things that have wheels, make lots of noise and anything to do with dirt! So the Roadworks quilt seemed like the prefect 3rd birthday present. He will be here in a few weeks time for me to give it to him. Aden thinks any quilt I finish belongs to him, but he is happy to let Baily have this one, only cause he loves his cousin so much! Size: 69 x 54  inches       A prefectly matched print from Michael Miller for the backing!   SYST - outgoing 21 FQ's

Christmas PJ's

Last year I started a new tradition for Aden and his cousin....macthing Christmas PJ's!  Here they are from 2010...I cheat and only make the shorts and buy matching shirts. This year Bailey has a little sister so I made some for her too. And here is my cheeky little elf modelling them! SO CUTE!

Play Quilt for Bailey Boo!!

Image
This quick quilt is for my new nephew Bailey Boo!! I chose darker fabrics so that it can be used on the floor at home with his dog! Baileys Mum and Dad seem to like it...but this is just a play quilt...I'm not even going to label it! His real quilt will take me about 12 months to complete...just in time for his new house to be finished and therefor his new room with a big bed in it. I've picked the pattern I just need to get the fabrics so I can start. The pattern is called 'Sevens and Nines' from this book I like the pattern but I wasn't impressed with the construction of the blocks in the book. I found it rather messy and hard to match the seams...I know that sounds weird as it is just squares but for some reason when the 6 smaller squares were pieced with the long rectangle it made for a smaller block than the book said...and therefor was hard to match with the large plain squares...I think if I do this pattern again I will just do it my own way. How cute is my ...

Brave or Stupid??

Despite knowing about this little one (awwwwwwww!!) for quite a while and knowing that it was going to be a boy I just didn't start a quilt for him. Bad Aunty I know!! So now that we are off to visit him soon I just can't show up without a quilt! This is the fabric I've choosen for a quick play quilt ...so brave or stupid colour/fabric choice?? PS It is actually too late and I have started cutting...but I'm still interested in your opinions!
