AJ's Antics

I have the plan. I have the fabric. I have the pattern. I have the time. I have the motivation. Just waiting for the photos to come back from the printer...then I can get started! I've not started a new quilt in a while....I do have plenty of half started ones though!

I don't normally make quilts from panels, but Emma asked me to make her this one to go in their farm themed nursery. I sent her a nappy bag a few weeks before Christmas but I just didn't have time before moving to finish the quilt too. Emma has been extra patient which I really appreciate. So I have spent all week stealing 5 minutes here and there to finish this for her. I do apologise profusely and very embarrassed about the delay but hopefully Emma will forgive me! I took a few snaps of it in Aden's cot and it looks cute! The biggest thing I found with blankets in his cot last winter was all the extra bits that needed tucking in and making it very hard to actually make the cot each day. This one sits on the top with about 5 centimetres along each side of it tucked down so that it doesn't move around. I echo quilted all of the animals, fences and flowers. I quilted close parallel lines on the barn and then I stippled the outer border.

It is amazing what you can get done when you have lots of time to kill. This one is on it's way to Sydney tomorrow for Foz to go with the pastel one I finished about 6 weeks ago...sorry about the wait! Un-washed with the quilting lines still visible....5-point stars in the white blocks.

I made the 24 blocks (one still to make) for this quilt over the last two days....now to add sashings...and join it together before Russell comes!

I don't usually work with pastels but this commission quilt for Foz just seems to work! I can just imagine a little girl curled up underneath it! I quilted hearts in the white squares

Done and ready to post! I enjoyed making this one! I took Emma's advice on not quilting contrasting thread until youget better at it...I was going to quilt around the stars in coloured thread and make them stand out a bit but decided my quilting skills are not up to that yet...so instead I stuck to white thread...which then contrasts on the dark blue backing....not a bad effort..I'm happy with the way it turned out and I hope Marina is too! And I love the binding!

Quilt Sandwiches x 2!! Ready for quilting...should take a week or so...a little longer if I actually do some work next week!! The third quilt needed to have the backing washed...and I ran out of pins so will have to quilt one of these before I can sandwich it!

Finished Star Blocks Finished Sponge Bob Square Pants Blocks Joining blocks together.... Top Half Bottom Half Blocks with letters on them to go between...haven't made them yet...maybe next weekend. Hopefully this quilt will be finished during the school holidays....only one week to go!

Been working on this over the weekend....so bright!! Just waiting on some fabric to arrive to finish putting it together! It has given me some great ideas for a bright cot quilt for Russell!

I worked on this quilt top for Foz this weekend instead of getting ready to head back to work tomorrow...It still has one more white border to add to the outer edge...I love the simplicity of it and the colours of course...I hope Foz likes it too...I will start on the pastel one soon...the fabric is cut out ready to go! (crappy night photo - sorry) In between quilting I cooked dinner...a rarity in this house as DH always does it...but I have to put up these pictures for Mick... Pork Chops glazed with Melrose Mango Sauce...and oh so delicious!! You'll have to try it next time you visit!
