What happened to the end of October?? I was sure there were more days to go and all of a sudden it is almost the middle of November! I had a few more blog posts lined up for the last few days in Blogtoberfest but I guess it is a bit late for them now.....here is a quick picture catch up from the last 10 days or so! 300 x 2.5 inch fabric scrap squares for a swap. While at the Craft and Quilting Fair last weekend there were many different and beautiful quitls on display. I didn't spend as much time as I would have liked admiring them. I took some photos on my phone so I could share some of my favourites here with you!  First up are quilts by people I actually know! I spotted Carmel's Snakes and Ladders quilt hanging in the Australian Homespun Magazine stand. She blogs at Solomon Sewing.  And there right beside it was this stunning Rocket quilt. It was a lovely surprise to see Gillian the quilt designer and maker sitting at the stall with her machine busily sewing away. Gillian and I met at a Kellie Wulfsohn weekend sewing workshop last year. It was lovely to chat to her again and hopefully it won't be as long this time before we catch up again. She blogs at Red Raspberry Then there was the STUNNING 'Travelling Friendship Quilt'. This quilt is massive but so wonderful in the story it tells in each and every block...

    Here is my entry for the Blogger's Quilt Festival hosted my Amy It's a simple Disappearing 9-patch.       Just perfect for playing hide-and-seek in!     There is not much of a 'story to this quilt, but I love the colours and the overall finish of it. It came about at the suggestion of making a 'Rainy-day' Quilt. These fabrics were in my stash and were perfect for the job!   With simple stipple quilting in light aqua thread, it is a lovely quilt to snuggle under and a perfect  baby play quilt for a boy without being too babyish.     Blogger’s Quilt Festival Stats Finished quilt measures : 52" x 68" Special techniques used : None...sweet and simple! Aden has never really liked to draw very much. He doesn't mind painting but drawings have always been just scribbles....until now! Last night after dinner while Hubby and I finished eating Aden asked to use his Transformers scrapbook that I'd bought him from the Craft Fair. (He should have got it the night before but he didn't finish all his dinner so he had to wait to try it out) He sat down beside us and with me asking him questions, Do you think the turtle needs legs? What colour is Mummy's hair?...etc. He produced 3 very recognisable drawings! I'm so proud....even though Mummy's glasses only have 1 lens and Daddy has a mono-brow!

I think this is called a stash....   I don't dare complain....as that means I can fabric shop without getting in trouble! And it keeps both boys busy so I can sew! This lot should keep them busy for a LONG time!   This is the new additions that my Mum and sister and I came away with after spending most of the day at the Craft and Quilt Fair I was a little surprised at the $17 entry fee, as last time I went only a few years ago I think it was $10. Mum invited me along to help her pick out a new machine. She was going to get the newer version of my machine which is now 3 years old. But decided that she didn't really need all the extra stitches for the type of sewing she is going to do, so went with the Sapphire 835 I'm looking forward to having 'sewing' visits now that I can use her machine rather than the cheap chunker that she was using!
