It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Image
Can't wait for Christmas?? only 44 Days to go! I've already starting thinking about how many Christmas projects I can finish between now and then! I was going to change our colour scheme to blue and silver this year but I won't have time to make a new tree skirt so I'm sticking with the traditional red and green and will look at changing it next year! This first project is for a swap... Auditioning binding (yellow) and backing Of course I started more then one...It might be finished in time for next year!

EB Doll Quilt Swap IV

Most of the little quilts have arrived at their destinations...and then I remembered I didn't show you what I sent yet! Here it is..well 'they' to be correct. I sent 2 little quilts to Rose and her girls...it is very hard to share one little quilt between two! A little bit whimsy, a little bit wild, a little bit odd...not usually my style but these little quilts are great places to try new things! I'm hoping LilFrankie's girls will have a good time playing with them...just like Aden and Grover did!

I love my little family!

These photos were taken a few days before Aden's 1st Birthday. We have finally paid them off! Although beautiful photos they were very expensive and I'll be doing a bit more searching for a cheaper photographer next time!

Yeah!! I'm so excited! My brother and his partner are having another baby! At 16 weeks today this little one will be joining us in mid April. Big sister Annaleisa is very excited! As are we all!!

Hanging of the quilt!

Image
I couldn't wait to hang this little beauty! Someone was asking how to hang the quilts so I though I'd show you. This really only works for little light quilts, hangs then nice and flat against the wall! You need bigger dowel and therefor bigger hooks for bigger quilts to support the weight! Here is how I do it! Ingrid had already added hanging corners to my quit so that step is already done...if not you will have to add them first...these are done before the binding it stitched to the front of the quilt. They are perfect for these little quilts and quick to do. Fold a square half (wrong sides together) and line it up in the corner, stitch it down....done! Find some 3M Command Cord Clips . I get mine from either Bunnings, Big W or Kmart. Cut a piece of 6mm dowel (also from Bunnings) to the right length. I use garden shears for a smooth clean cut. The dowel is no bigger than a stick so it works perfectly! Slide the clips onto the ends of the dowel all the way to the middle, hook...

Despite the trouble Ingrid had quilting it, the quilting is great! I love it! Thanks Ingrid! I tried to teach Aden to hold the quilt up for me to photograph...A skill we will have to work on! lol Dh and I will share the chocolate tonight when Aden is in bed!
