Our family holiday this year took us to our capital city, Canberra and then a few hours south-west to the Mt Selwyn Snowfields ....to see the snow! Aden LOVES going on planes so he was super excited and counting down the days. He kept asking how many school days left! We always fit in as much as we can when visiting a new place and this holiday was no exception. After getting off the plane we went to Black Mountain Tower for lunch. It gives a great view of the city. But an ice cold wind was blowing on the lookout platform and Aden was not happy! We then went to The Australian War Memorial .  The wall of red poppies to remember our fallen heroes is really quite moving...just to see so many names and knowing what they died for us. I wasn't sure how Aden would go as there is lots you can't touch and lots of reading at the displays, but Aden enjoyed the kids section where he got to play in a submarine and fly a helicopter. Close enough to the mid-point anyway! And we are currently in quarantine at home while we find out if Aden has Scarlet Fever  so I've got a few more crossed of the Spring cleaning list! 1. Sort and clean out cookbooks 2. Clean out 'junk' bookshelf 3. Sort out small bookshelf ....see a theme happening here? 4. Clean and condition Leather couch. 5. Clean oven 6. Pack away box of party gear....yes it is still out from Aden's party over a month ago! 7. Take wool blanket to Dry cleaners 8. Pack away winter jumpers and coats into Vac-bags 9. Pack away winter blankets into Vac-bags 10. Tupperware....need I say more? 11. Clean out plates/cups cupboard and resort into accessible piles 12. Clean out under kitchen sink cupboard 13. Pantry....need I say more? 14. Defrost the chest freezer 15. Do Tax 16. Finish pregnancy scrapbook 17. Make photobook of Aden's 3rd birthday party 18. Make Hubby clean out spare room cupboard 19. Cull stuff from under the bath

I'm thinking about a tutorial for these...after finishing 14 of them over the weekend I'd almost say I'm an expert! They started out as a special request from a friend for her son's superhero birthday party, which is now just a few weeks away, and just took off from there.   I had 6 to do for her family.. Super Dad, Super Mum and their 4 sons!       Plus 3 for our family....the A team! Ours are identical....     And then I thought Aden's cousins might like one each....so that was another 4....plus 2 for my cousins girls....       I still have 1 on the ironing board for Aden's little friend...and a request for 3 more girly ones for friends..... I think I am all capped out.....but it is fun!  

I've been having a bit of trouble focusing one just one quilt lately.... and so yesterday I started a new quilt....just cause I can! It is from fabric in my WIP list so at least it is not something totally new..... and it is all stash fabric to keep the Hubby happy!   Lots of HST to play with after I iron them!   Then when I got sick of cutting and chain stitching and cutting again I moved onto another WIP.....A long time WIP but there is not much to go!     I ran out of thread so was taking a break when it disappeared!        Aden trying it out on his bed, because he thinks all my quilts belong to him, and pretending to sleep! A quick trip to SL today resulted in them not having the same cotton colour....so this one is back to the WIP pile til I can visit another SL store or they restock their threads!

  I finished these a while ago but had no red thread or buttons to finish off the buttonholes!     A quick trip to Spotlight ( with Hubby and Aden in tow so it was very quick!) and an argument over blue smiley face buttons (for which I know have to make something to put them on!) and we were ready to finish these.     Aden had already tried the pants on and refused to take them off so I knew there were going to be worn and well loved!     Cheeky Monkey was playing silly games with his Daddy while I was trying to get a good photo!     Aden calls them his 'police car' Pajamas     These are a size 3 and a perfect fit!
